5 hp engine

Hi Just wondering if any one had any ideas why this 5 hp engine ,its a briggs.It had no spark so i took the sheild of and took off the flywheel put new points and condeser in it. Set the points at 20 thousands set the armature at 10 thous. Put it all back to geather it ran for a few mins it made some noise and then died now no spark.I tightened everthing to,but i have not taken it apart yet.Any ideas what it could be wrong?

I would pull the flywheel and check to see if the key sheared or partially sheared. While the flywheel is off you can re-check everything else. If the key did shear you will need to be sure to tighten the flywheel nut to the appropriate torque after replacing the key. Good Luck

I've seen several instances of the coil getting broken off it's mounts when not gapped right, or left loose
