445 john deere runs rich

got a jd 445 and it runs rich after you run it a while
starts out ok running good and then it slowly starts to smoke black
soon it will foul out the plugs
let it cool put in new plugs it runs good again
run it a while and problem starts all over again
any help would be appricated

Check your air filter and intake. The 445 is equipped with fuel injection system and you would have noticed some significant engine problems other then smoke and fouled plugs. I always use champion cj14 plugs as that is what Kawasaki recommended at the last school I attended. Most of the Kawasaki FD620d engines had problems with no 1 plug fouling. There was a design problem in the intake.
