The 1450 I brought home 10 days ago, has been stumbled around in front of the shop until today. We put in the shop, new front tires, battery, blew the dirt off, removed the carb and cleaned it, new plug, new oil and a few squirts in the cylinder and turning over by hand. The key is missing so the previous owner had it permanently hot wired, and jump start under the dash to run the starter. It had spark so we fueled it up and it fired on the first hit, started on the second. Try this with the choke cable broken off and running the choke with pliers. I drove it around the yard, no viberations and the hydro seems to work good. Hydraulic also works good. The hydro filter is yellow, does that mean that it has never been changed? Should I change the oil and filter in the hydro? The steering is sloppy at the junction of the steering box and the arm to the spindle. I need key and PTO switches, tail lamp, dash decal, choke cable, hydro knob, steering link and a seat. Where is the most likely place to find these items. Thanks...Darald

If yours is anything like my 1864, the keys are standard and not specific to a tractor.

Sears has them hanging on the wall @ 2 for about $4.

The last hydro filter I bought at the local IH dealer was yellow so you can not be sure if the hydro oil has been changed. Change the oil and filter. Then use a scribe or ice pick to scratch the date of when the work was done in the filter so you will know.
