JUST REBUILT THE ENGINE, REPLACED COIL AND PLUG BUT IT STILL WON'T HIT. HAS NEW BATTERY AND IS GETTING GAS AND TURNS OVER FAST. THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

Does it have good compression? Are the valves set
with enough clearance? If you don't have fire it could be an ignition problem such as points being dirty or pitted. If it has points you should make sure they're gapped at .020" and then slide some 320 wet or dry through the points until nice and shiny. Then take a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and clean them several times. If it still won't start replace the condenser. Hal

Sounds like an open valve to me,usually a rebuilt is a bit sluggish turning over...check if carb is pulling air(intake)and exhaust is puffing.
