Hey guys. I have a pre-Toro Wheelhorse 420-H (I think it"s a 420-H...something like that -H anyways) that I purchased last spring and used all summer to mow my yard without any major problems. Now winter is here and I"ve been attempting to fit the single stage snow blower I purchased with it. I"ve been wrestling with the blower and how it attaches for a week and finally figured it out after consultation with the local Toro mechanic. The problem is that all of a sudden the tractor won"t start. I"m getting pretty frustrated with the thing and am only able to dink with it around work and full time college. When the key is turned to the on position the dash lights come on and the gauges move just like normal. The lights come on and the test function works perfectly. However when you turn the key to the start position it"s similar to the PTO being engaged or the hydrostatic transmission being out of neutral. Nothing happens and it won"t start. It was running fine a week ago and then on Wednesday last I wanted to start it to move the hydraulic arm and nothing. The local mechanic suggested jiggling the forward/reverse control arm while attempting to start it and this made no difference. I"m wondering if the neutral safety switch could be giving me the trouble? I"ve never had trouble with this before but I find it interesting that right after I take the cover plate off of the frame that the forward/reverse control arm sticks through and the neutral switch is mounted on my troubles begin. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Haven't even had a chance to play with it. I've got Friday off from school and work so hopefully I can work on it if we get back in town early enough.

When you were wrestling with the snowblower mounting did you by any chance hit the saftey switch down by the brake pedal on the left side? Ckeck to see if the switch was pushed over enough not to let it work.

I would jumper that neutral start switch to eliminate it. Hal
