Some had Clinton Engines and others had the Wisconson engine, and different versions had 4:00 X 12 knobby tires while others had 5 X 12 or 6 X 12 bar tread tires. Have I believe 4 of them here and a lot of catalog information out of the Wards Farm Catalogs. From 2 HP to 5+HP.

I bought a Montgomery Ward garden tractor Model
MID 5055A. I understand that it was made by Midland. Do you know how I might contact Midland? It is a Ward's Power Trac

Just checked and some had up to a 7 1/4HP engine in Briggs as one of the later models in 1966

It's probably a Wards Plow-Trac made around 1948. Has a Wisconsin AB three-horse engine. Later models got a Briggs & Stratton instead. Should have 5.50 X 12" wheels, three-speed (three groove) pulley and weighs 300 lbs.

If the engine has a WICO magneto, it is probably a Wisconsin engine. The Montgomery Ward tractors were made by Midland, and Simplicity.

You should post a picture of that tractor. My neighbor had one of those. I think it was called the Plow Chief. He died not sure what happened to the tractor. Hal
