I have a cub cadet 128 that i use for show blading, plowing, and yard chores. Front tire are getting in bad shape...is there any advantage to putting some bar tires on the FRONT end? Would this give be better control in pushing snow....the front end can side around....local farm supply store has such a size....just wondering....and which way would i mount the lug direction? Thanks in advance for input on this.

Sure, they help. Just remember that taller, skinnier tires create better traction than short, wide ones. You may want to change wheels to get the right effect.

Put them on my 1450, made it turn almost like it was 4wd. As far as I am concerned, that was the best move I made in a long time.

on my newly to me simplicity they helped me out last summer when working the garden. i got alot more control over the front end in the dirt. now for in the snow i dont know yet, cause we havent has any yet. but last year the chains on the front of my wheel horse turned it into a totaly different tractor when plowing snow all for the better. best thing i ever did to that little red darlin. the lugs do tear up the yard thou..

I'm guessing your Cub has 16x6.5-8s on the front and yes you can get those in lug style. They haven't made lug in 15x6-6 for over 10-15 years. you can get them in 13x5-6.

Yes you are right...I should have included the tire size. They are 16 x 6.5 x 8
