The weekendfreedommachines website has a lot of information you should look at before deciding.

If it was me, I'd be cautions about trusting that 400 hour meter reading. The were last made in 1992. 400 hours over 15 years, that's less than 30 hours per year.

I'd believe the hours. I worked at a suburban Deere dealer, many guys fell in love with tractors, and on small lawns spent less than a half hour mowing. 6 months mowing season, 4.3 weeks per month, 25.8 times mowing per year. doesnt sound too outrageous to me. Of course, if it wasnt taken care of they might be 400 hard hours. I dont care for Onan engines either. I recall waiting a month for a carb kit, and also removed the engine to change the starter. parts are expensive.

Can't help with price. Arguably the best garden tractor ever made. We bought new and still have one of the very early production models of the 318. A disadvantage is repairs for the Onan engine are a bit difficult to find and expensive. Repairs are not always easy to do on this machine. As I remember it, we had to remove the engine to replace the starter.
