I have installed a 16hp vanguard in a older simplicity. There is no room for the oil filter. Can the filter assy be blocked off with a plate and ran like that?I think I seen this done on a jd 140 conversion but am not sure.
Thanks
Al(i have a remote filter kit coming but could use te tractor now)

I think there is a kit available from Briggs to run a remote filter. Adapter plate, hoses and remote mount.

As the earlier poster said, just blocking it off will block all oil flow and ruin the bearings within seconds.

The filter is "full-flow", and you can't block it off unless you have the appropriate plate with and oil channel to let the oil flow through the block-off plate, from on port in the engine to the other.
