I had a 140 JD do the same thing. The valves on the JD were the unloader valve that when open allow you to push the tractor. It's problem was that over the years the piece of sheetmetal that pushed on the valve when you screwed the unloader screw down was pushing all of the time even though the screw was not against the sheet metal. The valves would leak until the trans.built enough pressure to push the metel up. It took a whille to find this. I bent the metel up and the valve stop leaking. This may be you problem or your unloader valves may need replacing.
