I have a huskee with a 14.5 B&S engine. When it sit it leak all the gas out. I took the tank off, but it ok. I notice gas runing out muffler. Took the carb off and found a piece of trash in the needle seat. Got it back together and put a fuel cut off on it. Drain oil cause it look and smell like gas. It start but it seem to be it getting too much gas, I can turn the fuel cut off a little and it smooth out for a minute or two. Is there any other thing I need to check the float in the carb seem ok.
Thank Eddie

You can not change the float level with thew plastic float.

This is the nature of the beast, no matter what you do, the carb will leak past the needle and seat, best thing to do is to get an inline shutoff, and use it.

If eng doesn't have a gas filter, add one,if it does replace,as it's not working if dirt in carb, you may have/had dirt in line when you added valve, more dirt may have gone into carb & needle seat, also check float level, same may be set too high or knocked out of adj, when you took carb apart & reassembled, still flooding eng.

check the float that it is not leaking and filling up with fuel.
