1200 Cub Cadet Charging Problem??

I have a charging problem with my 1200 Cub Cadet. I can charge the battery and mow for a couple of hours. I mistakenly thought I was low on gas. Cruised over to the garage, filled it up, dead battery. I did the recommended checks. Across each stator pole to ground when running I get about 30 volts AC. Plug in the connector, all I get for output is what the battery charge is at that time. (12.75 with the key on with the tractor not running, 12.25 with it running) I guess I can assume the regulator/rectifier is dead? It is mounted on the metal flywheel housing. Where can I buy this part?? Thanks for any help, Jim

Ive had this happen to me on a 1650 and i replaced the voltage regulator. Now, when i fire her up, the amp gauge on the dash pegs to C and even with my lights and deck on never goes below 0.

The B+ Terminal should have a Max of 14.7 VDC at 3600 RPM's. The V/R "has" to be properly grounded for it to work correctly.

You should check to see if you have zero ohms resistance between the V/R Case and the Battery (-) terminal before replacing.

Did some more checking. .3 ohms resistance across the two stator coil wires. Across the two stator wires, at WOT, I get 35 volts AC. Plug in the grounded regulator/rectifier, and output doesn"t change. All I read is the battery voltage. (this time about 12 volts DC.) Should I replace the stator coil as well?
