I have a Toro 118, the belt from the PTO clutch to the jackshaft broke and took one of the 5 plastic fins off the fan that cools the hydrostat. Anyhow, I ordered a new belt from a reputable online parts house along with the fan. Belt only arrived, fan is no longer available thru them. Haven"t checked with a Toro dealer yet to see if they can still get it. I ran it last night, all seems OK with the one fin gone, but have two concerns: 1st one is, will it still keep the hydro cool enough with one fin gone? 2nd is whether it will create any imbalance issues, didn"t notice any. Thanks

Doug,
do not under any circustances run that without a cooling fan. It will run, but the imbalance will ruin your input shaft of the hydro. And it also will not cool and will destroy a hydro from heat. As far as I can tell, it is still available, I don't know a price, but the part number is 54-0240

Yes, that is the part number I ordered. I am going to search online for it again, would like to support our "local" Toro dealer but they take way too long too get any special order parts. Seems to me they try to order everything on their stock orders, I have had them get stuff for me faster and their special order charges greatly increase the price of the item, plus the freight. Would like to support "local" business, but until they get real on special order, order from them as a last resort. I used to be a parts manager at a Case-IH, so understand their thinking, but just can"t do that and keep customers happy. Anyhow, thanks for the advice and quick response. Doug

Doug,
A little FYI, Toro has a stock order program if you order a certain amount the order is shipped prepaid, so them adding a "special order" charge, then adding freight, to me is a little unethical. I know this for a fact, I am a Toro dealer, but can only get consumer products, but I do know Toro's shipping programs.
Jim

Hello again:
Just did a Toro dealer search, I see they didn't come up in the dealer list now. Think I will move on to one about 50 miles away. Makes me wonder if Toro got wind of their upcharges. Thanks

Tennessee, IL. Planning on calling Quincy to order parts, but if you are interested in my business, which is not that much since I more or less quit mowing any but my own thanks to gas prices, will order them from you. Have a fan ordered, will see if they actually ship. Do you have parts for a Husqvarna available? Thanks, Doug
