1250 Cub Cadet, manual blade/deck lift. There is a button that allows you to float the blade for snowplowing, mine is missing. Is that hard to replace? Looks like the sheetmetal all has to come off to remove the lever first, anyone done this job? waiting to hear back from the dealer if the parts are even available. Thanks.

Oldrustycars:

First, with a missing pin, the lift mechanism IS in the float position. You have to have the pin for a "locked" position.

The pin is available from Cub Cadet. It is part number IH-545633-R1

Here is a image on how this pin is to be installed and working....

You can see this area by removing the Tunnel Cover.

I must have explained it wrong. This is the long lever used to lift the implement. You push on the button top with your thumb to lift or lower, while pulling the lever. On front, in the finger grips, there is a provision for a button to hold the thumb button in the released position. In the past, I just stuck a bolt in there. It prevents the lift from engaging the detents, allowing the blade to float.
