What, EXACTLY, do you need... # AM31589 is JUST the IGNITION COIL, which is removeable from, and is replaceable separately from the "alternator coils" (stator). Is that what you need... the igntion coil part ONLY? AM31589 shows up on the DEERE consumer parts site as a good number. Are you SURE it's discontinued??? The stator CORE (laminations and ALTERNATOR coils), part # AM31590, is NLA by ITSELF. You have to buy the COMPLETE assembly, stator "core", and ignition coil, part # AM31573, IF you need the "charging" parts. IF you need only the ignition coil, a Kohler dealer can probably help you. Kohler didn't make the coil (proabably REPCO did), and a certain Tecumseh coil will slip on the stator laminations, POSSIBLY with a little filing. Also, aftermarket supplies surely have them, IIRC, Standard Igniion even makes a replacment ignition coil of this type. Kohler part # APPEARS to be 47 755 20. There's even several on ebay, one auction is #250155193093. So, what'cha need, the "spark" part, or the "charging" part? #12 = AM31589 ignition coil #14 = AM31590 stator core, replaced by AM31573 #16 = AM31573 sator, complete
