This is my problem Motor oil is blowing out of two out of four little holes surrounding crank seal on the front of the motor. Holes seem to be threaded for something. The motor is a 16 hp kohlar single cylinder.

I thought the 1655 came with a 16hp Onan twin.

normally it is for the stator to mount to and the holes should not go through into the block.

This oil comes out of the two right holes when you are looking at the front of the tractor. You can tell by the original paint that there was something bolted on the hole front of the motor. I just bought the tractor and it has a new electric clutch on the front. So do you think that I should try to plug these holes some how? Thanks

OK, you are referring to the front of tractor, that would be the rear of the engine. That probably had a muffler or clutch shroud there. If you go to www.snapper.com and look for a 1655 Snapper tractor, I think they were the same tractor and you might find what you are looking for. When you get to the site, look it top right corner for publications, click on that and then it will bring a model list up to look at.
