Just wondering if you would know what geared transaxles would fit my 518 hydro? I think I know where a couple of older ones may be.I know you like to pull your "Girls" But I'm the one that Challanged you to a race.HA!HA! Seriously though I probably can get a whole tractor cheaper than a pump for mine, and build a standard out of the two.--P.S.find out when the apple blossom festival is in Delmont PA, Bring your "girls" and familey Plan 3 days.also they have tractors running several mills makeing all kinds of flour,Hit and miss engines on display.etc.Don't know where in Jersy you live,I lived in Old bridge for about a year before I got drafted.about an 8 hr drive from here

Roy,

Let me get this straight .... you want to install a eight speed where a hydrostatic used to be right?

If so the best way would be to find a 300 or 400 series Wheel Horse that has a eight speed and swap over the parts needed for the conversion.

Wheel Horse did make a 500 series tractor with a eight speed but only 225 of these were made in 1990.

On June 20 and 21, 2008 the 10th Annual Wheel Horse Show will be in Arendtsville, PA, which is near Gettysburg (off RT 30). This might be a show you will want to check out, over 700 Wheel Horse tractors attending.

I get through the Pittsburg area a few times a year and just might stop in with some of my girls!

Bill in Richmond, Va.

I'm sorry I thought you were from NJ. for some reason.{Must be a mental glitch] HA!HA! Any way! The closest to Richmond I ever got was FT.Lee. I didn,t like it there because my boss [Uncle Sam] forced me to be there.--We do have a sled that comes to the festival I was talking about.I think you can find it on a pulling web. It's called [The Equalizer]Sure made my bolens 1666 look bad after the point of no return cones on a long track. our track was only 40' I did good 3100# full pull with a hydro 1200# pure stock class.10" max. hitch height,I pulled stock 9" height.---Then my son and I built 3 different racers The one in the pic.was our 2nd and best.My son wanted me to test drive it I was 59 at the time and I told him I didn't get to be that old by being stupid,so thats as close to driving it as I got.HA!HA!
