I recently saved an old Huffy riding mower from an undignified fate. On close inspection, I found that a friendly mouse family had dinner on the coil high tension lead. My question: I have a new ignition coil for the pointless ignition system. Do I have to change to the newer style flywheel to go with this new coil? Better yet, what do I need to use this new style coil? Does anyone know of anyone making decals for these old Huffy riders? Thanks again, Phil

I had a friend who worked at a graphics shop make some Huffy decals (The oval decal for the '60s models.)

I also put a magnetron retrofit kit on the engine and did not change the flywheel. It worked fine. Mine was the 100000 model series. I was having to take the whole top of the mower off the change the points and that quickly got old.

Enjoy your Huffy!

Depending on the size of the engine and the code number. You may be able to bolt the Magnetron soil on and go. Most smaller aluminum engines with a two legged coil do not need the flywheel change to use the Magnetron coil. If you will post your MODEL NUMBER, TYPE NUMBER, CODE NUMBER I can tell for sure.

I have put automotive coils on outside of engines. eliminating coil wire that comes out of engine cover. To do that tho an extra + wire on a switch is needed.
