A friend of mine has a very interesting Garden tractor. It has a Cast grill with the word AMIGO cast in it. It is very well built and has a gear box marked "DEMCO, Dowagiac, MI" It has rear PTO with individual band brakes. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

My uncle designed and engineerd the AMIGO garden tractor. Production began circa 1965. About 1970 Demco sold the tractor business to American Machine and Foundary. They changed some of the gears to cast iron and they had many transmission failures that DEMCO did not have. I would be interested in knowing what Model you have a 99, 1200 or 1400. Many were sold in Pennsylvania.
