782 Cub Cadet Engine life

I have a 782 Cadet with 760 hours on it. What is the normal life expectency for the 17 HP Kohler 2 cyl engine. I use high detergent 30 w Penzoil and change it often. I think the model year is a 1981.

These engines can last for over 1000 hrs, but they should not be operated across inclines or hillsides for long periods of time. The early engines are splash lubricated and are know to throw rods. The basic tractor itself is an excellent machine.
