I have a '71 Ford 140 LGT, 14HP Kohler K321 Engine, w/front-end loader
and rear scraper that has been a real work horse for me over the years
while getting our 2.5 acres landscaped and squared away here in San
Diego. The tractor has been kept in excellant condition. Since most of
the landscaping and yard work is now finished the tractor is rarely
used and I was thinking about selling it. However, a recent loss of
power has developed regarding the hydrostatic transmission. I've
replaced the O-rings,resurfaced the cylinder block, etc.,etc.. to no
avail. Whether I decide to sell or not, it must be fixed. Any
information on availability of 'used or rebuilt' tranny assemblies
would be appreciated. I have located a business in Illinois called
Central Hydraulics that has rebuilt Sundstrand hydrostatic
transmissions (as is mine) for $650 (no exchange). Is anybody familiar
with the company?

I wish you luck. Here is a link to the Jacobsen page. The folks there are all very familiar with the Ford LGT165 as they were made for Ford by Jacobsen. I have an LGT165 so if you cannot find what you're looking for let me know as I would be interested in you LGT.

It's been awhile since your posting, and I don't know the final resolution for your problem other
than trying to find an old LGT of any HP on the used market that you can part out for the tranny. They can be had quite reasonably when you find one. Meanwhile, what's become of the loader and
rear blade? I might be interested in purchase of one or both to do some changes in my own back yard.

Thanks, Tom
