Hey 5020guy, do you ever run into rattlesnake nests when you start moving those machines like that? Just curious. CT

Not really. You go 20 miles west of us, 20 miles north and 30 miles south you will run into rattle snakes but not here.

Well, JD, I sure wish you would go ahead and take the M-F 510 and the IHC 151 as well. Both need new paint for sure, but neither look half as bad as the old Case. Seriously, they ALL need good homes and all deserve it, too. After all, they are FREE!!!

510s are a dime a dozen around here. Anytime I want I can get one in a lot better shape then the one in the pic. Besides I think the engine has been spoken for anyway. In my experience, if a combine has that much rust on it, usually it will take more then a new coat of paint to get it going. Besides I already have one anyway. The 151 has a stuck engine and I'm just not going to have the time to fool around with that. Only reason I am taking the Case is because I figure this model is hard to find compared to the JD 55 and Masseys. The guy plans on hauling scrap this winter. He is a little cash strapped but was nice enough to offer them to me first before scrapping them.

Hey nutsaboutcombines, you should ask jd 5020 guy if his friend would mind giving you the IH 151 and the MF 510. Im sure if he dosent want them to end up in a scrap pile he would love to give them to you.

Gleaner R, the only problem with that, is that those combines are well over 1,500 miles from me. if they were close enough to bring home just for the cost of fuel [and that"s high enough!] believe me, I would. I could not help buyt cry a few months ago, when someone on here posted that some big Masseys, including a 760 or two, were destroyed for scrap! Good grief--a Model 760 of all things!!!

Everybody. None of them run. The 503 and 510 were parked running about 15 years ago. The engine on the 503 is still loose and looks to be in good shape. I'm hoping if I am lucky enough I can drive it home. The engine on the 151 is stuck. Don't know about the 510 but I crossed it off my list anyway since I already have one and its a diesel. Besides I think one of the ex owner's kid wanted the engine anyway. Didn't check the SP 12 but I'm sure its stuck too. Plan on bringing it home anyway just because they are hard to find intact. Actually had another one located but it was 3 times farther away in another county and I didn't know the owner since they lived in town. Didn't want to go through the hassel of finding out either. This farm is just down the road. Yes I am getting them for free but I plan on paying the guy a little anyway just for giving them away and not being a-hole. Probably scrap price or enough to cover his fuel and trouble when helping me load them. On another farm I have located a JD 55 old roundback, Gleaner A, Gleaner G, and MF Super 92 that the owner will give me. They are all in real good shape with the 92 and G being shedded. Just doesn't want them to go to scrap.

I plan on at the very least getting them field operable. I won't go all out with a 100% restoration with the nice shiny paint and decals.

If you run onto any more SP12's, call me at (406) 454-8758. I could use a couple of engines so I can rebuild a couple of D series tractors.
