Heres some pictures from a 100,000 acre wheat farm in the Lethbridge,Alberta area.

Rumor is that they have a bunch of new Case-IH 8010 AFX combines for 2008.

GOOD LORD!!! There's more combines and more horse power in one of those pics than in my whole county! Nice job.

Have any of you heard of the Williams brothers of Big Sandy, MT? They are owners of a Big Bud model 747 which is reportedly the largest Big Bud ever made. It was built in 1977 and was shown on a tractor calendar from a few years ago. The information on that calendar says it"s powered by a 16 cylinder Detroit Diesel of 900 HP and is capable of pulling an 80 ft chisel plow covering 60-70 acres per hour at 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 mph. They cover 8000-9000 acres in two weeks.

Wonder how big the Big Bud in this photo is and how wide that chisel plow is?

Maybe I need to add a gas grill and a side of beef to the list of things to bring along on my digger adventure and a fuel truck with my Big Bud LOL. I've driven a 525 Big Bud on an aquaintenance's farm for about an hour pulling a 60' disc nothing spectacular it had an 1150 Cummins pretty much like the Stieger Tiger 450 because it weighed so much more. The owner said hydraulics were a problem I couldn't tell it just seemed to motor along. I'm not sure but weren't they made in Montana? Havre or Bozeman? Are they still in business?

Yes. Big Buds were made in Havre, MT. Company owner or manager or maybe both was (is?) Ron Harmon. Don't know if they are still in business.

Yes,I have a video of the Williams Brothers 747 out in the field. That big V-16 Detroit sure sounds sweet.

The Big Bud in the picture from Alberta is probably a 525 and the chisel plow looks like 55-60 ft.

With all due respects 1206 I have to disagree that Bud has quads at least 24.5s or 30.5 drivers which has to be at least thirty feet wide and I've pulled a 60 footer and even with triples there isn't much on both sides I'm just guessing that unit is at least an 80 footer or more maybe even a 100 footer. Can't tell for sure it's too far away and I thought the big ones had thier numbers right below the grill. Been too long ago 1977 is over thirty years ago she looks pretty good for the acres its been over.

You are probably right on it being 80 ft but at 8-10 horsepower per foot to pull it,I'd think the 525 would lack some unless its been turned up.

Some of us at work thought those were quad 20.8's on the Big Bud..Heres my 6030 JD with 30.5x32 singles.Notice how short and fat they look.

Yea 1206 you might be right about them being 20.8's it shows up better on my flat screen at work than my old style screen at home I had to squint last night to even tell that they were quads and I meant to say 23.1s or 24.5s and even at that they're too skinny to be 24.5s anyway I'm due for my eye exam again in March maybe I won't have to use two different pairs of glasses one for the computer and one for other things. Oh well at least I'm still breathin, one thing for sure them are 30.5s on that good lookin 6030. :->

1206, How large is that disk? Seems like it would be a small load for that 6030.

Any idea what the name of the farmer is? I bought a STX425 from Lethbridge last fall and I'm pretty sure it came from these guys

Does this mean that it takes 15 green machines to do what 1 red one will do?

That place is about 3 hours North of me. We have some big farms here in Montana but that one beats any I know of.
