I HAVE THE CHANCE TO BUY A 105 JOHN DEERE COMBINE . IT HAS A 4 ROW NARROW ROW CORN HEAD AND A 13 FOOT WHEAT HEAD ALL IN GOOD SHAPE. THE COMBINE IS NOT A CORN SPECIAL. IT IS ONE OF THE FIRST ONES I THINK BECAUSE IT DOSE NOT HAVE AC.IT HAS ABOUT 1 AND A HALF FOOT HOPPER EXTION. THE COMBINE HAS DOBLE SPINNERS ON THE BACK TO SPREAD THE CHAFF. THE PAINT IS GOOD AND SO IS THE SHEAT METAL. THE COMBINE HAS SAT INSIDE SICE IT WAS NEW. WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD PRICE FOR THIS COMBINE AND HEADS. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS RARE BUT IT HAS A ROATING FAN FAN LIKE ONES THE 40 FOR A AIR CLEANER THE FAN MOVES WHEN THE AIR GOSE IN TO IT THIS IS FACTORY..THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS!

the "doble spinners" on the back are known as straw spreaders.

Good luck with your combines! I have two 95R rice machines(one with tracks)and just recently purchased a 105R. I plan to restore them in the future and play with them in our Louisiana rice fields.

If you could post the serial number I can tell you what year it is. It sounds like a normal 105,many didn't have ac. The price range on good ones around here(central IL) are from $1000-$2500. The diesels bring more because the engines will fit in a 4020. A qick-tach is better for newer heads but can be added. If its the 435 head, its not worth much, and replacement parts are hard to find. It sounds like a good one. Good ones are hard to find, when new, they were used on bigger acreage and many were wore out before now. When I bought mine,I offered what I thought it was worth. The guy wanted more but he wanted to give it a good home. Good luck, Steve

Its Probibly 1966 or newer. Just guessing. Most early ones are gone. It would probibly be a good one to hobby farm with.

THE REASON WY I WANT TO BY THIS COMBINE IS I AM COLLECTING THE WHOLE SET OF THAR SERIES OF COMBINES[40,45,55,95,105]. I HAVE THE 40 WITH BOTH HEADS AND RUNNING, AND THE 55 WITH BOTH HEADS AND RUNNING. AND I HAVE A 45 COMBINE LOCATED WITH BOTH HEADS AND RUNNING. ALL I NEED ARE THE 95 AND POSSIBLY THE 45. IS THE ROATERY FAN ON THE 105 VERY RARE.

The rotary screen was an add on and did not come standard on those models. I have a 105 diesel, hydro but it did not have the quick tach throat. This fall at an auction I bought a 105 corn special with QT throat and real nice 444 wide corn head. It was always shedded, gas and belt drive and I drove it home. I paid $1300 for the whole works and now I can use the modern heads and have the rest for parts.

I really commend you for attempting to obtain a whole family of the John Deere combines. If you have the time and money, you may want to go as far as collecting them by sub-groups, such as high-bin, Hi-Lo, and square back. It would really be great to see even the PT or hillside companions to the models, such as the 42, 65, 55H, 95Hand 106.

If its got a rotating screen,it must be something someone has added. It wasn't an option when new. Thats great if you can get all the sizes. I thought about it but I don't have enough room to store them. My 55 and 105 take all the room I have. If I could get a bigger shed I'd do the same. That 40 is the rare one.

The 40 could probley fit between youR 105 and 55. The 40 was only 16 foot 8 inChes long and 7foot 5inches wide with no header on the combine was also 8 foot five inches hie. the 40 only had a 8 or 10 foot wheat head and a 205 2 row corn head. the hopper could only hold 32 bushels. The horse power was 42 horses. the 40 had no power steering or the ladder to the motor over the gas tank. i know a man whose has the whole set of pull type combines but he dose not want his name reveled because he dose not like to talk.i am lucky that i have a big shed it is 160'x60' with power and a cement floor and power.I also have a 144'x40 with cement and electricy and alot more dirt floor implement sheds. i am only 13 and this is all that i have.

Looks like you have a museum already. You could open up for viewing someday. I could probibly get a 40 and 45 in my other shed. I had to build a newone to get the 55 and 105 in. I have other hobbys taking up room also. My collection consists of-

105 diesel combine
55 combine
4400 diesel combine
343 corn head
15 ft platform
13 ft platform
Woods Brothers 1 row picker-with wagon
292 check planter
7000 planter
1971 4020 diesel
1950 A John Deere
1952 8N Ford with many attachments
no.5 sickle mower
6' bushhog
Deere hay wagon
18 1/2' AC field cultivator
10' Kewanee disk
RG630 cultivator
555 Deere 3-14 plow
Oliver 4-16 plow
2 row front culivator(for the A)
5 horse drawn plows
JD Sportfire snowmobile
JD spitfire snowmobile
5 AC garden tractors 2 Simplicity garden tractors
582 stock-altered Cub Cadet puller
582 superstock Cub Cadet puller
1956 ford pickup

Most of this I use to farm with. Some I don't use. I bought a 2001 F-250 Powerstroke last year so my buying has been limited. I'm trying to sell the 4400 and 343 head. I need a 643 for the 105. Steve

What year 4400 and what shape is it in? I know a guy in Pennsylvania who's always on the lookout for good smaller combines like 4400 Deeres (and 343 heads) and Gleaner K2, F2 and F3s. He hauls stuff in from everyplace east of the Mississippi. If you have trouble selling it where you are, let me know, I'll get you in contact with him if you want.
