Hey Guys,

Does New Holland make replacement sheet metal panels for the high wear areas in the chamber like combine manufacturers do for their combines?

I've got one spot that is about 3" long by 1/4" wide coming thru the right side by the forming cam. I wanna stop it before it gets any worse.

Thanks,

Allan

Hey Allan,
I don't know either but I've got the same type deal going on on my 530 Deere on the right hand side on the back edge of the main bale chamber, Mine is much larger than yours though. I'm thining of using a say 1/8 thick piece of angle iron and lapping over it or using my wire welder and building it up by sliding a piec of thin steel in the slot and welding around it. Keep me in mind if you run across any different ideas.

Hi Ya Gary,

If I can't get replacement panels, I'm going to go to the Lenox heat and air conditioning place here and just buy some stock galvanized ducting material and pop rivet it in place right over the top of the original skin and leaving that original panel in in the machine.

It is kinda like roofing flashing from the lumber yard only a little thicker stock, I think. I've done this on combines in various locations and it gives 'em a whole new life and is totally unobtrusive as far as the machine's operation goes.

Thanks,

Allan

One of the local hardware stores used to make patch panels for augers from galv. They kept them in stock for augers on JD combines(45-55 etc)
