Hi Guys,

Really cold, blustry, and miserable here today.

Got that lower sproket/axle assembly down out of there with the help of a darned rope and put new bearings in 'er "just because".

Don't know how I'm gonna get that heavy sucker slid back up in there; might have to send my wife out to do it. :>)

One thing about it, when I fix 'em, I fix 'em, but I'm startin' to wonder if I'm ever gonna get this beast finished! :>(

Wanna hear the old beast sing again, but I've still got to wade thru that pickup yet. Onwards and upwards, as they say.....

Allan

Don't sweat the pickup. It should be straight forward old parts in and new parts in. Just takes time.

John

Allan you must be twins. One guy couldn't have all that energy! When you get done foolin' around with all that stuff you bought down there, you can come up to my place a rewire my Ford 4610. It'll be a chage of pace and we live in some real pretty country. If you can't make it, I'll just have to do it myself next fall.

He, he,

The wife and I decided a couple of years ago that we were not going to just sit and wait to die. Gotta get after things. I can rest after I'm dead. :>)

Where abouts you at up there? I've been all over that darned state at one time 'er another. Takes a bit of runnin' to cover that chunk of real estate too! :>)

We have a little ranch just NE of St. Ignatius in the Mission Valley, just north of Missoula. I believe in your philosphy too. I've seen to many folks retire, sit around and look out the window and within a year and half they're pushing up daisies. I humped for someone else for 34+ years now I'm busting my tail working on this little ol' ranch and lovin' every minute of it. My busy time is summer with the irrigation. we'r hopin' to stock the placebut the prices have been pretty high lately. But I dont think they are headed down significantly so I'll probably buy in. I also have to finish my shop so I can take on my winter projects like you do.

I've been helpin' the neighbors( they're in their late 70's) with their calvin' but I'm laid up right now after some hernia surgery and my wife has threatened to duct tape me to the couch 'cuz I'm so antsy being unable to do much. I envy you being able to get around while I can't.But I'll be better in a few more weeks and get right after it!

You've either got a fingerprint on the camera lens, or it is so cold that you took that picture from inside the house. How come the trees look they have green leaves on them?

Whew!

Just now got the heavy old pig wrestled up in there and buckeled down by using a couple of ropes.

Now, if it is half way decent tomorrow, maybe I can link that chain back up and see which rollers/sprockets I gotta shim one way or another.

Gotta get 'er done. There's a tractor rear end, swather, hay rake and a combine waitin' on the same darned sort of treatment. This winter is turnin' out to be too short fer some reason. :>)
