IHC 37 is basicly the same as later 370 which incorporated a few minor changes. Same went for the heavier 48 which changed to the 480. There never was a 47 but they came out with a 470 to fill the gap in weight between the 370 and 480.
Just for interest. All were offered in several different widths & blades.

Thanks for all the replies. I think you are right Allen, it must be a model # 37. At least it sure looks like the pic u posted. I looked this afternoon and there is no tag on it. If there was one, it is long gone. Thanks again.

Thanks Allen, I will look for a tag, I didnt see one, but now that I know where to look exactly, that might help out. The box frame part measures 6 feet wide and then I guessed about 2 feet out on each side from that and came up with a 10 foot wide disk. I am sure it is not 12'. ( I pull it with an Oliver 66.)Thanks for all your help, Randy.

Randy,

On the back face of that rear angle iron on the box, there is a 3" stamped metal model number tag. It should be riveted to the angle iron.

Sure looks like a 12' 37 to me, but it is hard to make out that leveler, which was about the only difference between it and the 370.

Does yours have the nameplate? Right rear corner of the frame?

I was thinking the 370 had 2 sealed bearings per gang and were lighter. Not at all certain on that. There were some grease bearings in the 37's but the later ones were sealed.

My 370 has 3 greasable bearings per gang. The only diffference between it and the 37 I used to have is the leveling device and those weight carriers.

The 35s looked identical to the 37 except was lighter.

Allen, what is the main difference between the 37 and the 35?? Hard to tell because your pic of the 37 is not a close-up. Mine has the same tongue, framework and design of the picture of your 10' # 35, except the "boxed" part. I will have to take a pic and post. I cant find a model tag anywhere on it. I take it the 37 is a later model? What years were they made? Thanks Randy

Thank you. Mine must be the model # 35. I remeasured this morning and it is 10 feet wide. The only difference is where the weight "box" area is solid on the bottum, mine just has 4-5 bars going across. Any idea on what years that these were made?? Thanks again. P.S. Allen, what part of Neb. you from. I lived in Grand Island in the early 80's. Randy

Randy,

I think you have a model 37.

I live 'bout two post hole lengths from the Wyoming line.

Is it a drag type or a tandem tow (does it have wheels)?

I think the first IH wheeled type was the 35, but they were about 10 foot. The 37s were next and then the 370 when they got to be about 14' wide or so.

I've doctored this first picture. IH's early drag disc looked something like this one with a little different rear hitch.

2nd picture is a 10 foot model 35 and the last picture is my old 370.

It could be a 370. But it's more likely to be a model 37, which preceded the Model 370.
