Really need recommendations on the best 2-bottom plow for an 8N. Will be plowing a few acres of gently sloping sod with some rocks.

You should be able to pull a 2-bottom no problem. Look for a Ford or Ferguson plow with 12" bottoms. I think you should look for the kind with the "throw away" blade type shares that cost maybe $10 for the replacement share. I believe the older ones, like in the picture someone provided have large points that are expensive and/or hard to find replacement for; maybe someone else could tell you better. I have also taken an old 12" Ferguson plow frame and changed it to Oliver Raydex bottoms by drilling a new hole in the beam and bolting the Oliver parts on; it plowed better than the original. Good luck.

When we had a 9N we used a single 16 inch Ferguson bottom that my granddad had found somehow. Worked fine. We had lots of rocks, and 1 bottom works better than two in rocks. Also, hp is not an issue then.

The smallest bottom would be better for an 8n. The 14" should be all that you would want for your tractor. If you're in clay ground it won't pull a double bottom plow so I'd check the soil type and either get and old double disc turning plow or a single bottom plow.
I agree that an 8n looks really good with a double bottom plow, but in all actuallity it does'nt have enough ponies in the pen to plow anything but sandy ground with a double bottom.

This picture says a lot. My Dearborn 2-bottom plow is the same only it has sat outside for over 50 years and is a 'dark rust' color.
