Done!

Spent all darned day on this rascal, but pretty sure she is ready fer the field.

Replaced 32 teeth, checked every bearing in it, set the preload on the main drive bearing, greased it, changed the gearbox oil and adjusted the basket vertical.

She doesn't make a tick and is finally ready to rake hay, I'm thinkin'; so, she's headin' out to the farm in the morning. :>)

It looks good and ready to go now. I knew you didn't have time to be messin with that other one and sounds like it's time to cut hay from your post this morning. That green rake we had was only thing green we put in a hay field other than tractors or green Badger wagons when chopping. Everything else for hay was New Holland or Hesston. Well, had a ole green 880 swather too once but when it wore out it had to go too for a Hesston. That JD hay stuff cost too much to fix.

Hey Howdy!

I didn't even call 'bout prices.

Saw that bad gear gizmo and just bailed clear out of that project. Darned axles were so wobbled out, the wheels didn't even stand straight up and down neither.

Hey! Now that ya bring it up.

I need a real nice 666 with a turboed 312. Does not have to be all painted and prettied up either.

I could be down there by 'bout noon if ya happen to know where one's at. :>)

Alan,
Glad to see that you have the right color now. LOL
I was gettin worried. Grin. The reason they paint those other ones green are so that when they break down you can leave them in the fence row and nobody will see them.

Oh,

I felt kinda bad about that darned John Deere; more like stupid, actually. I should have checked it out a little closer. Just couldn't imagine that a machine could be in that poor of shape.

But, we're ready to rock and roll now even tho between the two of 'em, I've got more than just a couple of bucks sunk in a silly hay rake.

Live and learn, I guess. :>(
