Tried plastic twine in my 440 baler. Did 614 today and only broke one due to shear bolt problem. I think the old baler likes it. I made no adjustments when I switched. Was breaking about one every hundred before. I was doing rye straw and had it so tight the sisal was breaking in the air and had to back off on tention. So far I like the plastic. Yea I know it doesn't rot away like the sisal but thats progress!

I was having a heck of a time with breaking bales in my NH 268 with sisal. I switched to plastic (poly) and haven"t missed a bale yet. Never made any adjustments to my baler either. You won"t ever have a problem with it not decomposing either if it gets picked up like it should. I never leave any kind of trash out where my livestock could get to it so why would anyone leave baler twine out is beyond me!
