I have an Ferguson disc that has wooden bearings/bushings. The wooden bearings/bushings have been worn away over time. How do I replace them? Can I buy them somewhere or do I need to make some?

Thanks.

I had a cultipacker a few (well, many...) years back and I had the wooden bearings made at a wood shop. I took in what was left of the ones there as well as dimensions.

It wasn't too expensive, if I recall.

You may still be able to buy the wood bearings but your best bet would be to find some old growth (tight ring) oak (perferably white oak) or some Hickory and make your own bearings they are not difficult to make. AD

If you end up making them, Hard Maple would be the best. Soak in oil before putting them on maple will absorb and retain the oil, then be sure the grease fittings are open and use alot of grease they will work.
Good Luck

Right. The original bearings in most disks were hard maple.
