Curious if these things are worth anything. I think it is all there except the wheels, but they are probably around. I think it was working when parked. Allis collector was here, but mainly interested in tractors. I guess we're not overly attached to this thing, but wouldn't probably sell it right now, just curious. Thanks.

We filled silo with one when I was a kid. I remember pulling it with the WD when I was still to young to unload the wagons. I found out it worked better in 2nd gear than low but it still plugged some. They wern't any good then and I don't suppose they have improved. It would be a neat piece to restore.

Leroy is right. There are several heads for this Machine. As shown it is set up for corn silage. There also was a Cutter bar unit and a Windrow pick up unit for it. A Flail Chopper unit was available but was not popular. Come to think of it the whole machine proved to be unpopular. As a Silage Cutter it was a failure in my experience. As a Collectible would be it's only value.

Around here they were popular and a good machine and required low horsepower. Also they did not have quite as short a chop as some other makes but for putting up loose straw or hay they were the best one because of that longer chop that did not make complete dust out of the crop. The big problem was they were hard to change from pickup to row crop head, later ones were made different with more of a quick tatch head but by then other higher capacity choppers were avaible for the higher horsepower tractors that were becomming avaible. I havent seen one around here for years even at shows, would be nice to be able to seem.

Sorry, guess that was the only thing I've ever heard anyone around here call it.
