I need a picture of a Boss Potato digger. Has steel wheels and was horse drawn. My Dad has one all in parts and he is trying to restore it.

Ive never seen a boss potato digger or have even heard of it. But Ive seen alot of potato diggers and most of them are about the same. My IH digger looks alot like a hoover and most of the parts resemble each other. I think you could get by looking at a different brand digger.

Yes it is a one row wheel driven. Got it all apart so he doesn't know how it goes together.

Did he take it apart of did it come in parts? Im wondering if all the parts are there. Last year I took my potato digger all apart, Im took everything apart that I could and cleaned it up and did any welding or repair it needed then pained every peice then put it back together so its like brand new. Could you email me some pictures of the parts and maybe I can tell you where they go.

He got it all apart. he has cleaned all the parts and now is looking for a picture of one so we can reassemble it. Some of the parts are pretty clear where they go. A picture of one would help with the rest.

3010JD:

Here"s a scan of an old trade card for the Champion Potato Digger; as somebody mentioned in a posting above, the basic design is bound to be pretty much the same. If you need a more detailed picture I can send you a larger image file (I just scaled this one down so it would load faster for those on dial-up and wouldn"t use up more screen space than a lot of folks have).

Maybe this situation helps you with a gift suggestion for your dad for Christmas: How about a digital camera? They"ve come down in price a lot in the past couple of years, and with one your dad could take lots of "Before" pictures to assist him in the re-assembly phase of his restorations. I sometimes do that when I"m cracking open something I"ve never been into before; the photos have helped get things back together the right way on a couple of occasions. Plus, you can bang away and take dozens of photos if you need to, and if you end up not needing them, just delete.

Hope this pic helps, and that next fall finds your dad digging row after row with his renovated Boss!

Merry Christmas to all, -- Maine Fordson

That's good advice to take pictures when tearing anything down. I tell them to take some video too. Hal
