I have a '55 Case VAC with an Eagle hitch. I don't have any implements but want to hook up a back blade. What is the difference between the Eagle hitch and a regular 3 point hitch, and what do I need to consider when getting one? Also, I've seen reference to class 1, 2, etc. hitches and implements. What class is the Eagle considered? Thanks in advance. Please email. - Bill

Eagle hitch will work fine with most all category 3pt implements. Main difference is the "claw" latch mechanism on the arm ends (hence the name). Original eagle hitch implements sometimes had a "head" on the end of the hitch pin, which prevents them from being used with conventional 3-point hitches which must slip the pin through the ball in the end of the arm. You will need to use a hitch pin and often a large washer on the end of the hitch pins to prevent the claws from unhooking. Also, go ahead & replace the springs & ropes on the claws (spring for holding it shut, ropes to hold claws open while hooking up), as 99% of them are long gone.

I was told by several Case owners,That the cat.1 implements would work with the Eagle hitch. I had looked at a DC model and the owner only had regular 3 point implements. Cat.1 implements are the standard for up to 50 hp I believe.
