Hi Young Feller,

Looking good there and it seems you have things well under control. That is a pretty hayfield! :>)

Just for what it's worth and sure not trying to tell you your business or anything, but did you know that you don't have to lift the cutter on the corners and make that big left-handed "loop"?

You can just leave the mower down and it will make a perfectly square corner by turning to the right.

The key is to not turn too short. You just have to remember that the cutterbar needs to cut the existing corner out before you make your turn.

Then, just as the sickel hits the edge, bend 'er hard to the right, almost making a "mini-u-turn" and that mower tongue will back that mower right up and align it for the other direction as your tractor comes back around and into position.

Just thought you'd like to know,

Allan

Better yet- just open up the field (4-6 rounds depending on size of machine) and then split it if just a side pull or start going back N forth with the hydro-swings... I cut on Monday- all -35+ acres with our 14' Hesston 1014+2 and Massey 285.

1st crop is definatley a load on the 285, but that's a good thing too... So far we've gotten a few 1-5 min. mists but nothing that would soak it right through. I plan to rake some tomorrow, and hopefully bale Friday. I'll take a picture of the wagons all loaded up if I get a chance...

We've got 7 wagons to load up.

It also works best if you throdle the tractor back about 1/2.
