Just got a Bush Hog rototiller and have not received the manual yet. Some oil has leaked out of the gear housing. Anyone know how to check and fill the oil and what kind of oil to use?

Most gearboxes either have a plug on the side (NOT the bottom--that's the drain) or has a vent cap with a dipstick attached to the bottom of it to check the oil.

Fill with oil till it starts to run out the hole on the side. The dipstick is self explaning.

If it leaks a lot (puddle on the ground the next day) and you use it alot you might want to replace the seal that's leaking.

Usually 90 Wt. oil.

My RTS-50 Bush Hog tiller uses 80-90 gear lube in the gearbox and grease in the chain housing...
