Asked a few questions about my old planter and ended up picking up a 202, 203, 205 manual from ebay. Though similar not the same as the 200 series manual (printed 1950) shows horse drawn and lever lift... but otherwise the gearing and drill portions are the same.

It was nice last week so I decided to strip her down, clean it up and inspect it and set it for 30" rows and make sure it was in operating condition. I am still attempting to rebuild the fertilizer units as they are rusted solid and need the acetylene wrench for disassembly.

anywho... here is how she turned out... btw, there were remnants of a white decal on each seed box, I could make out the last letter as a K so I am assuming it said McCormick. I have never seen a decal such as this but I'm on my search for a pair.

Anywho... enjoy... and she works extremely well for as old as she is. The Iochief that it drilled is doing quite well...

Thank you both for your assistance. That information helps a lot.

Now if i can only get my fertilizer attachment back in working order... they are in tough shape.

OH Boy, you don't by chance have a manual for your planter do you?

Unforunately CIH doesn't list this model in their parts area... bummer.

Yes I do. Would you like a photocopy of it? Email me back with your name and address and I will put it in the mail to you.

Roosty, those decals are available from Binder Books. You can order them on their web site.

Do you by chance know the P/N for the decal from Binder or Maple-Hunter? Binder is great to work with, I have a few of their manuals but I really wish they would add pictures to all decals and example photos of all implements to match them up to manuals...

Maple-Hunter Decals are great folks to work with, I got my #70 plow decals from them and their stuff is top shelf. Unfortunately they don't have a website.

Please forward me a photo, my email is attached to this reply.

Thanks eh

Jamie

Roosty, I don't know how to attach a picture to this. Send me one and I will send it back. I see you may have found the model number tonight. I didn't notice a number, I just seen that they had McCormick planter decals on their site.

Roosty, I have 2 or 3 that could use your attention. That looks great. The seed cans do say McCormick on them. There are some decals available, but not sure if they are exactly as the original or not. You can go to grapics design shop and have them made with a good picture of them. My 221 still has the originals on it, but not sure how good they are. If you like I will take a picture of them and get some measurements and send to you. Send me an email if you want. Good job. I like that Iowa Chief corn too. I call it the Hee Haw corn because of that pretty tassel in it.
