I have recently purchased a John Deere 1 row semi mount corn picker and need some information. It mounts on the rear of the tractor and has a spoked rear wheel to carry part of the weight of the picker. The snouts are along the left rear tire of the tractor. Need to know the picker number, years manufactured, and any other info. Am interested in putting it on a styled A. If anyone has any pictures of one mounted on a tractor, I would like to see them. Picker is also missing some parts, so I would be interested in knowing if someone has a parts machine. Thanks for the help. Jeff

find a part number on a cast piece or two and carry those numbers to a jd dealer. he can look up those numbers and tell you which tractor or implement they went on. from there you can go to a parts book and look at pictures and pick out your model.

About a year ago there was an article about a guy restoring one in Green Magazine. It was a 127 picker. You might want to try contacting them and seeing if the guy can't help you out as I remember reading parts from 1 or 2 row pickers were interchangable.

I have 2 model 100 Quick-Tach One-Row Corn Snappers, as well as the operators manual. The number of the manual is OM-N11-355. I tried to scan and post a copy of the picker mounted on a JD 60, but my scanner doesn't seem to work. Maybe your JD dealer can order you a manual? One of my machines has been modified to fit an Allis High Crop, and is mounted on a tool bar, the other is original and complete with the exception of the slip clutch assembly. If you can determine your model no, I may have the parts or whole machine if you are interested.

Sounds like it could be a #101. Made in the late 40s or early 50s. There was some pictures and info on them in green magazine a few months back.

If its a snapper then I think the model is a 102,otherwise its a 101. An uncle had a 101 in the 40s.Have a 1953 Deere Farmer's Notebook. It lists them in it.
