The original subject was "Building a bob wire fence...".

We're smart people here - let's utilize the great education we've all received in this great country. The name of this fence is "barbed wire" (as opposed to 'Bob'). Thanks for your consideration. Let's make America proud!

Dang, here I was think'n I had way too much time on my hands at work. Not every one on here has an education, not every one on here is American, and not every one on here speaks or types good english. I find it very relaxing to come to this site and read the different way we talk. It is something I can do here at work at night. Helps me pass the time while I am work'n and not work'n in baccer.

By the way, any one here remember Dell, what ever happend to him, I miss him? People were always give'n him a hard time but he seemed like a feller I would enjoy drink'n a beer with.

A young ranch hand went to try out for the U.S. fencing team.

One of the fencing coaches asked what type of fencing equipment he used.

The young ranch hand replied "Bob wire and Lectric".

Guess I should cut off the computer and be back to work.

I thought it was bad enough for people to tie "trout lines" to trees in order to catch fish.

I have heard folfs speak of bob wire fences all my live. I never thought about trying to correct their English. Kinda like tires and tars I guess. I suspect nearly all barb wire fences in the south are bob wire. You need another hobby.

Wow, Someone has a lot of time on their hands looking back to the archives to 1999.

I guess I will look for your reply to my poor English in this post somewhere around 2015.

Thanks for the heads up.

Rick

Well, maybe he/she wasnt looking for help with a barb wire fence. Maybe at some point his great grandpappy had a different kind of fence that he called a "Bobwire" fence, but is was not barbwire. Different spokes for different folks. I know today I am building a "Davewire" fence. Its gonna be an ugly but hopefully versatile fence. Worst part of it is digging them darn holes and trying to place the rail road ties in em by myself. All the guys that were offering to help while bs'ing over beers, suddenly have too long of a "honey DO!" list. Well, lunch is over gotta go.

No can do, bud! I patented the "Davewire" fence two years ago. We are taking it national next year once we get the lawsuit with Bob settled.

Yep.. I've found there are very few things that will make friends 'scarce' like fancing. About the only other one that comes close is 'moving'.. etc.

Evidently this has really been bothering you, since you waited nearly EIGHT YEARS to point it out.

I think it has something to do with the internet: this fellow doesn't have high speed; he's got hand crank, and was just able to download from '99.

Now, Ebb, you've got to remember: Not everybody has a lot to do with his time, and some folks who do have plenty to do with their time choose to take some of it to nit-pick others too busy to worry about a minor spelling error that everyone will understand anyway....

Pray for this one, and keep on living your life as before. Perhaps he'll do the same.
