Has anyone used this type of accumulator? Give me your good and bad comments. I have used a accumulator before and am interested in the 18 bale Kuhn Hay Accumulator.

Guy on here named Kieth Harpster (?) has one and has posted extensively about it. Maybe he'll chime in, otherwise do a search and I'm sure his old threads will show up.

Greatest tool I have ever purchased. The only drawback is its clumsy in very small fields, I have learned to deal with that. That is really the only negative, very reliable and well built.
The are great people to work with and any question I have called with they have done whatever they can to help. We have put up 1500 per day in good running with just me and my son.
Here are some pics of ours in use, just ask away anything else you want to know.

What happens when you have a busted bale? It looks like the problem would be with the top row of bales. I have a older gentleman running the baler and am concerned about having to climb onto the accumulator to remove the bale.

Did you deal direct with Kuhns MFG. to purchase or a local dealer?

How long are your bales?

Are you having trouble making a 32" bale with a NH 575?

What kind of hay is in the pictures?

The broken bales just work out then you throw them off. Its not bad you just walk up the back. We try to not have many broken mabe a couple per day at the most. We make 32 to 36 inch bales, works good with our 320 NH. The accumulator takes some getting used to turning. Raking the correct way really help reduce turning problems. That is brome in these pics. I deal directly with Kenny Kuhns and family, great people to work with.

I've never used one but it appears to be an engineering marvel. It looks cumbersome. how do you empty the bale chute at the end of the day? It appears to be totally manual which is good. The question about broken bales is a good question. How would it work on real hilly ground?

At the end of the day you just shove the top bale over and down by hand then go to next. Usually 3 to 4 bales in slide it only takes a couple minutes. This pic is only really steep ground works pretty much problem free. Sometimes in really rough or bouncey fields the gate will bounce just as a bale is passing and can catch.
