Can someone tell me the difference between IH 420 and 430 balers?

As I remember from sales literature back then, the 420 had a cross feed with fingers somewhat similar to New Holland's, operated by some sort of cable arrangement. The 430 had an auger for cross feed. I have never used one and my recall of the mechanisms
may be incorrect.

The 420 was the lower capacity baler.

i had a 440 baler and it seems like i remember there being a difference in the size of the bale looking at the ends of them. i would think most parts would interchange. i tore the gear box up in mine and put one off of a 47 on it and it bolted right up.
