I have saved a one row John Deere corn binder and am working on a John Deere sheller. I think the sheller is a #3 spring sheller. It is all metal but looks bigger than a #3. It is a spring sheller and I don't think they made a spring sheller larger than a #3. Any thoughts. The binder is minus the wood and am not sure how much is missing as we have a good snow cover at this time. I did not have a camera with me so will have to go back for pictures. Any one have a copy of the operator manual or parts manual for the corn binder? It is a horse drawn model but I would like an idea what the model # is if it has one.

Thanks for any information and I will try to get pictures.

Identified as a D-400 John Deere. I think this will be restored or rather refurbished to work. It sounds like fun. I now have a #1, #2, #5, and this D-400. :D

Check some casting numbers on the sheller and you woild be able to verify the model of the sheller.

I have one of those binders, been in the family since in the 40's and I think since new in the 30's. Have a couple of manuals but called nothing but a horse drawn corn binder.
