John Deere made an implement trailor I believe the number is 201, also Donahue made the same type of trailor. I was wondering what the axles were rated at as far as tons. The one I'm looking at has 5 bolt rims.

Dug the JD model 201 operators manual out, and it gives a 7850 lbs bed capacity with a carrier weight of 2825 lbs. Their math isn't too good because they add the two together, and come up with a gross weight capacity of 10700 lbs.

I have the Donahue brand which is the same as JD. 28 ft. long rated for 6000 lbs. No you cannot have brakes as you pull it about 12 ft off the axles to lower it to the ground. So you would need brake lines that stretch and contract 12 ft.

I wanted to haul small squares of hay on it and wondered what it would hold without overloading it too much. Of course none of us on here would ever overload a trailor!!!!! !!!

I've wondered about using one of these on the road instead of a more expensive trailer for buying the occassional piece of equipment at auctions, etc.I wonder can they have brakes added on?

I've got a JD 201 with 5 lug rims. I believe the rated capacity is 8600 lbs. If necessary, I could get the operators manual and check.
