$1166.42 is what it brought on Ebay. Jim

Bob I could see that it was heavier and stronger than a #51 but I wouldn't have guessed it weighed that much. Jim

Bob I should have guessed you'ld have one! What were they designed to do that an ordinary plow suchas a #51 or similiar plow couldn't do? What tractor was supposed to pull it? Thanks,Jim

Jim, I have had mine for about 8 years but have never used it, I heard of a guy who claims he pulled one with a BO lindeman crawler. I have read they were often purchased by a group of farmers to open up land that had never been tilled before, and once it had been used they didn't need it again. Up close it is easy to see the difference between it and a #51. It is about 16 feet long and weighs nearly a ton. The bottom is measured as 22". The land wheel is 36" of solid cast iron. I think the standing cutter would cut out small (grub) trees and the model with the big coulter would cut through bog vegetation. I would think a crawler would work best in such conditions. Someday I plan to try mine when nobody is around.

Using the John Deere Plow Works Repair Catalog "R" (1/1/42) that plow appears to be a No. 11 Tractor Grub Breaker Plow (1929) with a 22 inch moldboard and standing cutter.

Good work Kim, I looked out my window and verified it is just like the restored one in my front yard. The #11 also came with a 30" coulter as an option instead of the standing cutter. I hope it goes higher than present bid, I have thought mine is worth close to a grand. Maybe I am dreaming.
