I have a Dearborn sickle bar mower model 14-16.I was able to get an operating manual from N-NEWS. Going through it I realized I was missing some parts to the mower. Mainly, "hook up to the tractor" parts. My Question is: where can I get the parts I need for the mower? Thanks, Denny.

Denny, I also have a 14-16. I had to make the extensions for the lift rods. Made them out of 3/8 pipe 5"long and 4 tees. center to center of the tee is 6 inches. the tees on each end must be 90 degrees from each other. Also the right hand under axle bracket needs to be with the swivel ball on the bottom end. The top link bracket attached just under the regular toplink. Do not attach to the hyd toplink, it could damage the system. Also to use this toplink bracket you need to have a 8N. It uses the long pin below the toplink. (Not on 9-2Ns)

Here are some p/ns from the dearborn master mower manual:
upper lift arm extention bracket 142712
bracket, link (toplink) 141242 underaxle bracket RH 141186
under axle bracket LH 141561

I hope this helps some. Tom

Hello Denny,

I also have a dearborn mower (don't remember the model number, but could be the same as yours). I also had to find the mounting pieces. You can buy the right hand pivot mount and the rocker hold down from Ford. The left stabalizer bracket can simply be a generic unit. The fellow I bought the mower from did not want to let the mounting pieces go as he still had another mower and wanted to be able to mount it on more than one tractor. I was able to dicker on the price quite abit to make up for not getting those pieces. I don't remember what the mounting hardware costs were exactly but the rocker clamp was around $25 from Ford; The right hand bracket was more expensive. Aftermarket stabalizer kits are not that expensive as you need a bracket and the bar from the kit.

I have seen N tractors being sold with the mower axle mounts still on them. Never tried to buy them off of a sale tractor though.
