Does anyone have anything to say about Farm Hand loaders? There will be one at an auction at the end of this month. Also, what are they worth. Thanks,Glenn

Got an F-20 that i adapted to fit my 8N Ford. Darn good loader. Better than the DuAl's (Woods now i think). If your putting it on something similiar in size to the 3010, you can easily make any adapter brackets to get it on your rig. Watch the cylinders, if it looks like they are leaking bad, may cost you a little for seals. If it comes with a control valve, that would be a plus. Valves are about $250. New hoses if you would need them are about $10 ea depending on your size and length. If it is not welded up or bent up, $400 would be a fair price for it. Dealers around here in North Dakota sell 'em for $800-$1200 used.

FARMHAND DID MAKE A GOOD LOADER BUT I WOULD BE CAREFULL ABOUT BUYING A USED UNIT AT AUCTION.

FIRST, FARMHAND WAS BOUGHT OUT BY AGCO AND MOVED TO OHIO FROM THEIR HOME IN IOWA. NOW AGCO IS SUBING OUT PRODUCTION TO ANOTHER COMPANY BACK IN IOWA. THIS CONSTANT MOVING RESULTS IN PARTS NOT BEING AVAILABLE OF DISCONTINED ALTOGETHER.

I SUGGEST YOU FIRST PRICE A NEW LOADER FROM YOUR LOCAL EQUIP. DEALER BEFORE YOU GO TO THE SALE. IF IT SELLS FOR 1/2 OF NEW PRICE AND IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND HAS THE OPTIONS YOU WANT THEN BUY IT. IF IT WAS MOUNTED ON A TRACTOR DIFFERENT FROM YOURS DON'T BUY. YOU WOULD THEN HAVE TO BUY A MOUNTING KIT FOR YOUR TRACTOR.

LOOK AT THE BUSH HOG LOADER LINE. THEY HAVE SEVERAL MODELS AT GOOD PRICES.

WHAT TRACTOR ARE YOU PLANNING TO PUT A LOADER ON AND WHAT DO PLAN TO USE IT FOR?

GOOD LUCK!

Farmhand's original "home" was in Hopkins, Minnesota way back in the 1950s.

Can't speak to price, cause mine came with the tractor.

The Farmhand loaders are good. F-11 has abot 3-3500 pound lift capacity. I use mine (on a Farmall M) to move big round bales about 1100#, no problem, just steers hard because of the weight. I also use it for grading around the house we're building.

Check the arms carefully for welds, cracks, repairs, etc., especially around the attachments for the bucket curl cylinders. Also make sure the loader is set up to attach to your tractor.

I don't know the model #. All it says in the sale bill is JD 4020 with Farm Hand loader. I'm looking for one to go on a 3010. Thanks for your replies. Glenn
