I agree with Tyler on this one. Definitely look at Land Pride or Gannon for a real quality piece of machinery. The better welding, design, and paint on these two brands will be beneficial in the long run.

Take a look at King Kutter. I looked at Land Pride but their local dealer tends to be high priced, wanted $400 for a four foot box. The dealer for King Kutter is 85 miles from me but I bought from him because the King Kutter weighed 50 lbs more than the Land Pride and cost me $85 less. It was worth taking the time and driving the 65 extra miles each way, because I got a better piece of equipment and even with the expense of driving the extra distance I saved money. Other brands available closer by were priced at over $500 for a comparable implement. I have 1/4 mile of road to maintain and this scraper straightened it out in just a few passes.

JOE,

FIRST THING TO DETERMINE IS WHAT YOU ARE PLANNING TO DO WITH THE UNIT. MOST COMPANIES HAVE DIFFERENT WEIGHTS AND STYLES TO CHOOSE FROM. BUSH HOG MAKES TWO DIFFERENT MODELS BUT NOT A COMMERCIAL UNIT.

WHAT SIZE TRACTOR DO YOU PLAN TO USE?

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO SPEND?

DO YOU HAVE A GOOD LOCAL DEALER?

A LITTLE RESEARCH WILL GET YOU THE RIGHT UNIT FOR THE RIGHT PRICE WITH THE BEST SERVICE.

Joe I agree with Tyler on this one. I have a Land Pride grader box and two Land Pride blades. Good stuff.

I just bought a Landpride model 3572 and like it a lot. I paid more than others sell 72" box blades for but got thicker steel, better paint and 7 ripper teeth instead of the 4 that others had.

I figgured I could pay a little more up front and save the time and expense of fixing and welding on a box blade that would soon look like a rusted hulk. You either pay now or pay later.

I'm already over the $699 that I paid for it and it's done real well for me. Our community road is 1000' long and hasn't seen a blade in over 15 years. I shaped a new crown and cut down the potholes after about a dozen passes going as slow as I could. The result changed our material order from 4" of base and 2" of top gravel to just 2" of 3/4 minus crushed rock. I brought up about a hundred "potato" sized rocks and several in the 5# and bigger range. Never put a hurt'n on the box blade. Glad I bought quality.

You might find as good of quality in a Woods product or some other brand. Just don't fall for a poorly built box with thin steel and poor welds.
