Disc Identification

I was recently given an old pull type disc if I would just haul it off and get and get it out of the way. It works pretty good to be so old and only has one broken blade. There is a lever mounted on the tounge. To make the disc cut, you pull the lever and move the tractor forward whitch offsets the gangs. To transport, pull the lever and back the tractor up, which puts the gangs in a straight line so it won't cut. The disc is covered with rust from years of setting out and except for one small area off dark green paint, is unidentifiable. I have seen this type of disc before and they were all in about the same condition. Does anyone have any
idea what brand it could be? Was this
set up used by more than one company? It's about 6' wide (give or take an inch or two). I'm just curious as to who made it and about the time period in which it was made. Thank you in advance for any help. Ray

Bissell made most of the disks sold in this area, and they are exactly as you described. The early ones we've had used wooden (maple) bearings, and some later ones had steel. I believe the original colour was green, but all ours were repainted several times with red. They were unmatched in orchard and vineyard work, but you really chewed up the headland.
