the NH 68 operators manual has a section on mis-shaped bales and how to adjust. You should buy the manual. These balers need a decent sized windrow.I double rake grass hay windrows and go real slow. Thin and irregular size windrows can add to the banana effect too. Good Luck

I just bought one on e-bay. It cost me $15.00. Make sure it is for a twine or wire tie.

Banana shaped bales are usually caused by 1 of 2 things: 1. Bale tension adjusters toward the back of the chamber are not adjusted evenly so one side of the bale is tighter. 2. Hay is not feeding evenly into the chamber: it is either not being pushed far enough in or pushed too far in. If not pushing far enough in check the teeth on the "raker" bar that feeds the hay from the throat into the chamber. If the teeth on the end closest to the chamber are missing it won't push the hay far enough in.
