Can anyone suggest what to look for I have a problem with the "tucker finger" roller not riding on the can on the knotter shaft it stays about 1/2 an inch away the return spring is good. All this causes the knotter not to get twine so no tied bales.

thanks for the replys I looked at it yestarday in good light and the tucker finger shaft is up tight against the "hay dog". looks like something is bent so back to the drawing board at least I have 2 other balers for parts if what I need is still on one of them. I've gotten 336 knotter parts for it so they interchange. happy baleing to you all Tom

I ran mine yesterday and will try to take a look at it to see if I can spot anything on it. Have you got a manual? Also is the return spring a heavy one. Try lots of WD-40 (and I mean LOTS) to see if it is in a bind or dragging. HB

I don't know how much help I'll be, because the last time I got a close look at a 14T knotter, I was a junior in high school, and the thing was on its way from our farm to the parts yard.

Check to see if the piece the roller is mounted on is not bent. Also check for binding anywhere that might prevent the spring from pulling it back all the way. If you can push the roller onto the cam by hand, but the spring can't pull it back, something is getting stuck. I can go look at my 336 closely tomorrow. It's a lot newer of a baler, but the knotter is pretty much the same, just faster. Maybe then I'll figure something out for sure.
